  • Font version
    12.0.1

  • Screenshots
    System Render
    Black and White
    FireFox Render
    Firefox

  • Operating system
    Void Linux ~ glibc

Musl libc has same issue

  • Steps to reproduce
    Preform Basic Linux Install
wget https://github.com/eosrei/twemoji-color-font/releases/download/v12.0.1/TwitterColorEmoji-SVGinOT-Linux-12.0.1.tar.gz
tar zxf TwitterColorEmoji-SVGinOT-Linux-12.0.1.tar.gz
cd TwitterColorEmoji-SVGinOT-Linux-12.0.1/
./install.sh
  • Issue
System based font rendering seems to fallback to the Black & White emojis
    Just like on OS X

Reiterating: Only FireFox supports the SVGinOT color emoji for now. Safari and Chrome will use the fallback black and white emoji.

Usage in Firefox shows perfect rendering, most likely a issue with Void Linux,

This issue is to see if it is not

  • Expected Outcome
Working system wide SVGinOT color rendering

It's all of Linux. The only solution I know that'll work for sure is if I release a version of the font with multiple formats of the color emoji so applications can use their preference.

Understood, although rendering is perfectly fine system side when using arch linux for the exact same apps.

NOTE: atm I am not using twemoji, & am tight for storage so I have no way to test or compile it
