Quick summary

When using the Zoom Out mode with Classic or Hybrid themes on Simple or Atomic sites, the transition to "zoom in" the editor is missing.

This transition is present when using the Zoom Out mode with block themes.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Start with a Simple or Atomic site.
  2. Use a Classic (like Twenty Seventeen) or Hybrid (like: Dalston) theme.
  3. Edit any page or post, and enter the Zoom Out mode by adding any pattern.
  4. Exit the Zoom Out mode, and check that the transition that "zooms in" the editor is missing.

What you expected to happen

Seeing a smooth transition that is zooming in the editor canvas.

What actually happened

Not seeing any transition, and the editor canvas is zoomed in instantly

I don't think Zoom Out works in the page/post editor anymore so we can close this one. props @getdave

@scruffian I'm confused as this was just implemented to add zoom out to the new page creation experience, landing in GB 20.0: WordPress/gutenberg#66836

@annezazu that's only for editing pages in the site editor, which is only possible for block themes.
