Pre-release

Azure Media Services Explorer v5 for the new AMS v3 API.
This is a preview version which does not implement all the features. It may crash because not all AMSE code has been migrated to v3 API yet. Do not use this version for production.

You can run AMSE for v2 and AMSE for v3 side by side on the same PC. This is recommended for several reasons : for example, media reserved units cannot be managed with v3, and some v2 objects are not seen in v3 (live channels and programs).

For more information regarding the changes between v2 and v3, read this article.

Please report bugs or crashes here (please mention v5 version) or contact [email protected].

The following features are implemented using the new v3 API:

  • Interactive authentication (subscription browsing and manual input) with an option to force the user selection.
  • Service Principal authentication (output of CLI) with encryption of secret
  • Live Event and Live Output operations, including new options (low latency, non vanity)
  • Streaming Endpoint operations
  • Storage attach/detach
  • Simple Transform creation (video and audio analyzer, and pre built MES presets) and job submission
  • Support for http(s) sources for jobs
  • Clear streaming locator only
  • Asset information with blobs display and management
  • Asset upload and download
  • Account and asset filters

Major missing features (to be developed):

  • Dynamic encryption/DRM support
  • Display of policies and DRM keys
  • Advanced transform creation
