[Bug]: Balance removed without entering competition

🐞 Describe the bug

At this time, if there is a backend issue and the user tries to enter the competition, the balance is discounted, but the user does not enter the competition.

This is probably related to having two different processes, one to Firestore and the other one to the DB.

🤔 Expected Behavior

The balance should only be discounted if the user is confirmed to have participated in the competition.
