Qcircuit package causes trouble when siunitx \meter is used in caption of figures

Qcircuit prevents Latex from compiling if the package is loaded and siunitx is used with the \meter command in a caption of a figure. Funnily enough, this problem only occurs in captions, not in the normal text.

Minimal example:

\usepackage{graphicx} 

\usepackage{siunitx}
\usepackage{qcircuit}

\begin{document}

\begin{figure}
    \centering
    \includegraphics{f1.jpg}
    \caption{ \SI{1550}{\nano\meter} }
    \label{fig:enter-label}
\end{figure}
