Same multitude of problems with with Task Scheduler occur after upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 10 Anniversary edition. Machine was originally upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 Pro, and seemed to run well for six months or so - until upgrade to Win10 Anniversary edition. Any chance that the Repair Tasks utility will be extended for Windows 10? As with the Win7 and Win8 situation, large number of errors begs for an automated solution. Judging from the growing number of complaints throughout the Internet - seems that just as many users have been blindsided by the issue as was the situation with regression to earlier Windows versions.

I'm not convinced that there's anything here I can help with. For more detail, see the proposed documentation page at https://repairtasks.codeplex.com/wikipage?title=Repair%20Tasks%20and%20Windows%2010

Please have a look at my arguments, and tell me if you disagree and why. I would be happy to have my mind changed.

I have not reverted any computers from Windows 10 to a previous version but I did use your tool to repair both a Windows 10 Pro and a Windows 8.1 Pro which one of the programs I was using caused inconsistencies in the files and Task Scheduler would not let me get past the first screen to try to fix them.

From your above comment this tool should not be needed for Windows 10, but I do have two issues for your consideration:

  1. Do you have or does there exist a Windows 10 Tasks.zip so that I can check what I have on the various computers?
  2. I am running Windows 10 (two different versions for testing), Windows 7 (Home and Pro). The Windows 10 systems were updated from Windows 7 Pro and Windows 8.1 Pro, these two systems were repaired by your tool. In general they now run well (I too have had some issues on the Anniversary edition, not Task Scheduler related) but like all systems there are the occasional various types of Task Schedule failures. An export and/or compare tool would be very helpful.

I do have some backups of the tasks from some barebones Windows 10 VMs for 1511 and 1607. I have uploaded both of these in a normal zip file (not suitable for use by Repair Tasks) as an attachment to this issue.

On the second point, I have just been comparing task folder trees using standard developer comparison tools like WinDiff. They already are easily better than anything I could reinvent.
