Irrigated acreage used in TOPNET #7
Comments
Irrigated acreage used in Topnet is controlled in basinpars.txt, which |
Format_basinpars.pdf contains all of the metadata for the basinpars file. (We have a file like this for every Topnet file - see the folder: ModelFilesDescriptions |
In the attached Excel spreadsheet, I imported the basinpars text file and extracted Bertrand Creek and Fishtrap as an example, deleting all parameters except those related to irrigation. Note that direct area is in mm2, converted here manually to km2. The irrigated fraction of Bertrand Creek area (95 km2 ) is 37%. Of that 37% irrigation, 38% is the sprinker fraction of irrigation (with the remaining 62% drip irrigation). The combined weighted irrigation efficiency for Bertrand is 75%. Note 1: Bertrand is CatchID 87 and DrainageID 6. These two numbers should not be confused! (it's a team effort to keep these numbers straight, so always double check)
