How to install and get going the project?

Hello, How can I get a clean install of the project? Just git cloning it? Or do I have to do a composer create-project or something like that? Sorry, I'm new to dkan. If you have a guide or something that will be much help. Thank you in advance.

P.D.: I tried to follow the documentation but there's only a suggestion to use the getdkan/recommended-project, I don't know if I should just use that?

Hi guilleab5, the getdkan/recommended-project is essentially a composer file that includes all of DKAN's dependencies, DKAN, and a patch for Drupal core. The easiest way to get an initial installation working locally is with DDEV + the DDEV-DKAN add-on: https://getdkan.github.io/ddev-dkan/getting-started.html

How can one use dkan in production without the DDEV as it seems to be used locally only?

Yes and I did follow the same steps as in the documentation to update composer.json with the additions to repositories section and running composer require 'getdkan/dkan:2.x-dev' and following the frontend steps in the documentation for that. Nothing in the code to show.

Manual Set Up in a DKAN site
If you have a backend already running and just need the frontend:

1.) Clone this repository in your docroot git clone https://github.com/getdkan/data-catalog-app frontend. The DKAN DDEV add-on is structured to run commands in a folder named frontend so frontend repos could be swapped if needed.
2.) Install the dependencies with npm:
i.) cd frontend
ii.) npm install or yarn install
3.) Run the server: npm start or yarn start
i.)Your site is now running at http://localhost:3000
4.) Build the public files npm run build

5.) To complete the setup like the auto setup, setup the DKAN JS Frontend module that comes with the DKAN core installation. Steps can be found here: DKAN JS Frontend Module.

From the instructions above this is what I understand and I have done the following:

1.) I have installed the DKAN module as intended and enabled the DKAN JS Frontend module that comes with the DKAN core installation.

2.) I have cloned the repo in my folder for web where there are other folders like the core, sites, themes alongside it and run cd frontend where I have installed the dependencies with npm install.

3.) Finally I have built the public files with npm run buid

Am using this version of dkan and Web Server Apache/2.4.62 (Debian) and Drupal Version 10.2.2

I think that is all fine. Note that I am using the latest version of dkan. Are you getting an error when you try to load your site at the URL /home?

The DKAN frontend is being displayed but I can't go to the admin dashboard by adding the path /url/login.

Interesting, what happens when you do that? Also I presume you are trying the URL /user/login? If you try a new browser do you have the same issue?
