As far as I know, Google provides its layers only in EPSG:900913 (or EPSG:3857, which are the same), so you must use that projection in order to see everything fine. OpenLayers can't reproject raster layers, so we'd have to use something external if we want to fix this problem, though I'm not sure if it's worth the time...
When Google Layer is activated, changes the extent of the map. To test this issue, go to map to know point and activate the Google Layer.
This seems is a problem with projections.
