Why are articles on the homepage still showing tags instead of categories? #109

Has the category Social Justice set.

because the top_term post metadata has the value 3470, which is the tag "marchers".

The top term functionality has a complicated series of fallbacks, but if the top_term metadata is set on the post, it will use that.

"marchers" does not show in the top term dropdown because that term is not assigned to this post, which is an interesting edge case that I hadn't considered before.

Saving the post will update the top term to the default selection in that dropdown, but what they should do if they notice mismatches like this is set the top term to the preferred term in the dropdown.

Conclusion from scrum today was:

  • this is mainly a concern on the homepage
  • they can change the top term for posts on the homepage.
