I give the page permission to use a microphone. I launch the Speech Input plugin. I click the Start Dictation button. I speak into the microphone. The speech is recognized and displayed in the document.

When I click the Start Dictation button, an error window appears with the text: Permission to use microphone is blocked. To change, go to chrome://settings/content/microphone

Hello, @EkaterinaRarus
What system are you using? I tried to replicate on kubuntu 24.04 in chrome 131.0.6778.85 and I couldn't replicate this problem. Does the microphone work in other applications? Have you tested it to work in Google Chrome?
As for the Edge browser, indeed, there are problems with the operation of this plugin that we are aware of - bug 71900.
The microphone is working, I often communicate, it works in other applications.
I checked it in the same browser on Google search using speech input through the same microphone - it work’s correct.
This issue is unique.
