This issue is unique.

  • I have used the search tool and did not find an issue describing my bug.

Operating System of DocumentServer

Linux (DEB package)

Version information

8.2.1.38

Expected Behavior

I give the page permission to use a microphone. I launch the Speech Input plugin. I click the Start Dictation button. I speak into the microphone. The speech is recognized and displayed in the document.

Actual Behavior

Chrome browser 131.0.6778.86
When I click the Start Dictation button, an error window appears with the text:
Permission to use microphone is blocked. To change, go to chrome://settings/content/microphone

A similar error window appears in the Microsoft Edge browser 131.0.2903.63. It also mentions Chrome settings, not Edge.

Reproduction Steps

  1. Open the document editor in the Chrome browser;
  2. Grant permissions to the page to use the microphone;
  3. Go to the "Plugins" tab in the document;
  4. Open the Speech input plugin;
  5. Click Start Dictation
  6. Record speech

Hello, @EkaterinaRarus
What system are you using? I tried to replicate on kubuntu 24.04 in chrome 131.0.6778.85 and I couldn't replicate this problem. Does the microphone work in other applications? Have you tested it to work in Google Chrome?
As for the Edge browser, indeed, there are problems with the operation of this plugin that we are aware of - bug 71900.

Client operating system:
Windows 10 Pro, 22H2, build 19045.5131
Browser:
Chrome 131.0.6778.86

The microphone is working, I often communicate, it works in other applications.
I checked it in the same browser on Google search using speech input through the same microphone - it work’s correct.
