OK, there is also a workaround for this bug (well it worked for me)
Enable option "Enable automatic searching from the address bar".
When enabled urls are understood well but unwanted search option is added to address bar.

Context: Qupzilla is a fantastic browser and is my default browser. This happens on an always updated Debian Testing, now with Qupzilla 2.2.5.
Typing the address "qupzilla.com" does nothing, no navigation starts (browser does not interpret "qupzilla.com" as "https://qupzilla.com").
However, typing "https://qupzilla.com/" opens the Qupzilla's website.
Not specific to Qupzilla's website, it happens with any web address.
Automatic search with keyword letter from the address bar is also not working, typing "g qupzilla" will not start a Google search for "qupzilla".
Keep the good work. Thank you.
