Feature-Request: Allow to install multiple versions of the same library #1432

I have some issues with new versions of a library from time (just had it again at the weekend). Currently an update of the library is always affecting the complete environment (all projects). For the boards packages it is already possible to install multiple versions and select different versions for different projects.

Now I would love to be able to install multiple versions of the same library and configure different versions for different projects.

Just to provide some screenshots, I would like to have this menu:

And than have the version drop down from the first screenshot within this menu:

I know. I mentioned this here #1425 (comment)
It is needed for version control of the used libraries.
However adding this functionality is difficult and GUI disruptive.
So it was on the mental list op improvements, now it is in the issue list of improvements.
Don't hold your breath.
