Performing action after import but as part of transaction

I'm trying to figure out a way to perform some actions related to my import as part of the same DB transaction, but after all the chunks have been handled. I tried the afterImport event, but a quick test seems to indicate it is performed after the transaction. I then tried the afterSheet event, which seemed to work at first, but once the number of rows in an import exceeded the chunk size, I discovered that afterSheet is called for each chunk, which doesn't work for what I want. Is this behavior expected? If so, would something like an appendTransaction() event make sense to add between the two?

AfterImport is indeed after the transaction is closed. AfterSheet is called every time a chunk is written to a sheet yes.
I would be open to TransactionStarted and TransactionFinished events.
