TWRP not installing at all on oneplus nord

• I am running an official build of TWRP, downloaded from https://twrp.me/Devices/
• I am running the latest version of TWRP
• [/ ] I have read the FAQ (https://twrp.me/FAQ/)
• [/ ] I have searched for my issue and it does not already exist

WHAT STEPS WILL REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM?

Installing TWRP the regular way, adb reboot bootloader, fastboot flash recovery twrp.img fastboot reboot

WHAT IS THE EXPECTED RESULT?

I expected TWRP to be installed every time i boot into recovery

WHAT HAPPENS INSTEAD?

Every time I boot into recovery, it just redirects me to fastboot instead.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This could also mean that it gets corrupted because every other install i tried to do it didnt boot at all and said the recovery was corruted but i dont think its that related. Most times i can boot into oxygenOS fine.
