microAI is broken on non-flat terrain #4163

Differences in terrain elevation can cause units to stop shooting. In the video below, the orange tanks are set to Fire-at-will, but refuse to shoot the cyborg because they are targeting the black tank behind the hill.

(For this test, the orange tanks were set to Hold Position, but this does not change the behavior.)

Expected Behavior

Direct fire units should prioritize enemies that are within direct line of sight. In this case, the tanks should shoot the cyborg and truck.

System

  • OS: Windows 11
  • Game version: 4.5.5

Additional Context

This is a reason to prefer NTW flat maps in multiplayer
