Bit of a big ask, but given all the various and advanced window management features, I wonder if WindowTop could also take on the role of a full-fledged window manager, i.e. window size, position, state (max/min/restore), etc. It already has many of the features of other window management apps, and more, it's just missing these more fundamental elements.

@vertigo220 Thank you for the feedback.

Could you be more specific? I'm not sure what you mean when you say "full-fledged window manager."
It can be many things

Just as I said in the OP. I want to be able to set each window's default state/size/position (SSP), so when that window opens, it will be set to that, and I want to be able to save a window's current SSP so I can move it and then quickly put it right back where it was, or back to the default for said window. Perhaps even save a few SSPs for a window to be able to quickly set it to one, and perhaps even window group SSPs, so for different tasks I can have different arrangements. See Basta's ZMover, DeskSoft's WindowManager, and WiLMa as the best examples.

It sounds like what you're asking for is something that was developed very recently in PowerToys.
Have you checked out the Workspace feature in PowerToys?
Are you referring to a feature like that?

Possibly, but I've also given up on PowerToys, hence why I came upon this app, instead of using their always on top feature. That app has been nothing but poorly designed garbage from the start, and recently started giving constant errors, all of which is unsurprising considering it's MS. And when I went through the various features it has, I found only a couple of them are of any use, and combined with the problems it has, I decided to just get rid of it. And given how little I cared for the Fancy Zones feature, I didn't care to even bother checking out the Workspace one. That said, if it's a direction you don't want to take this app in because of its existence in that app, that's certainly understandable. I just figure it's always good to have options, and there are so few in this particular area, most of which are discontinued and all of which are lacking.

I’m very happy to hear complaints like this about PowerToys :)

You’re absolutely right. They do poor development with bugs... Their crop feature, for example, works really badly, and there’s a YouTube video where someone reviewing it showed this unintentionally https://youtu.be/_t56H9wHGjY?si=eicMLw3PeJkiM9i3&t=216
That was so funny, hahaha! The way he tried to ignore it while showcasing their mess... like he was thinking, "Bug? Microsoft developed it, so it must be fine."

Anyway, about this request - I just think this is a feature that requires more development time than I can currently dedicate. Maybe in the future, when I have more free time, it will become relevant.

It also depends on how much demand there is for it in this software. I appreciate your feedback.

Thank you.
