I can link to an already existing sqlite database but I can not create a new one . It is only sqlite , so the option of creating a new database from scratch should exist.

I will evaluate the implementation in future versions.
The function is not present because you simply create an empty file with the extension .sqlite, .db or other (even while browsing for it) select it and press connect.
