While working on #506 I listed out the criteria for triggering WARNING/CRITICAL states and one item I initially jotted down was reporting backup dates that are set in the future.

The problem with triggering a state change for this is when the date is off by only a little bit, or when the problem is temporary, or any number of reasons.

Instead of trying to implement this now for #506, I'm spinning off this GH issue to note that it was considered and set aside for additional thought before potentially implementing later.
