We should support pre-sign urls use-case.

What would that look like? What value are we able to bring for a presigned URL?

@aajtodd We can still split the pre-signed GET request using ranged GET. I don't know about the upload path, but maybe we can do something similar there as well. This is one of the requested features for the CRT S3 client.
