We'd like to use rules_go together with gazelle for you projects. However, we work in an isolated environment without direct access to github or https://pkg.go.dev/golang.org/x.
Wondering if it's feasible to create something like go_local_repository repository rule for testing/POC purposes before we mirror required repos. I see related issue/557. I expect that it should be relatively easy to implement.
Will be grateful to hear your thoughts and thank you in advance!

Hi, I don't have anything to add to the ticket you linked. It seems to be identical to your request, and it identifies issues which would need to be solved or worked around. I think it's better to consolidate discussion in one ticket, so I will close this as a duplicate. Please follow up there, thanks
(To set expectations, we recently lost our one full-time contributor, and we lack bandwidth to implement feature requests like this.)
