"Folders" filter is missing randomly #13058

Steps To Reproduce

  1. Go to the browser extension.
  2. Open it's window.

Expected Result

You see and can use the "folders" filter.

Actual Result

The "folders" filter is not there. (sometimes! not always!)

Additional Context

I saw this two or three times now myself. Closing and opening the extension window seems to help, at least temporarily (I don't know yet if that error persists). I experienced this on both my desktop PC and laptop (so on two separate instances of the extension) - and at least one other person reported this also in the Community forum: https://community.bitwarden.com/t/2025-1-0-browser-extension-ui-ux-megathread/79349/50

I can confirm the same behavior starting immediately after I updated my Chrome extension from 2025.1.0 to 2025.1.1:

Closing and re-opening the extension window does not seem to help, in my case.*

Also, I wonder if this issue is related to #13057. Perhaps the extension UI hides the "Folder" filter if there are no folders in the vault, and there is a bug that causes the list of folders to be cleared???


*Update: In my case, the "Folder" filter was restored (at least for now) by performing manual sync (Settings > Vault > Sync vault now).
