So, this may be a bit of an over-ambitious idea, but I think it bears discussion:
We've talked before about using the calendar as a richer organizational tool—for example, being able to attach assignments to events or some such.
However, what if we created a pre-defined calendar color for each category of Resource (or perhaps per Project) as a step in this direction?
What got me thinking along these lines was thinking about the use of colors with calendars in implementing TBS3. It seems to me that the reason to have colors associated with calendar events is to use colors to impart some sort of meaning / organization (blue=due dates, red=class events, etc.) It seems sort of silly to have to remember what color goes with what—why not have the machine do it for us?
This is likely a low-priority feature (though it could be highly valuable). Mostly, I wanted to put the stub of the notion here for discussion at some mythical point in the future when we've already addressed all the low-hanging fruit and are looking for new work to do.
