What is this?

Convert to NPM for easier setup and adoption

Requirements

  • the container/Docker aspect should still be allowed
  • review npm setup. can probably be completed without the need for a container
  • settings should be the same as the container... path, port
  • configuration file, either standalone and/or incorporated into package.json
  • review if this should be included as part of a 2.0
