In Linux Mint 21.3. Opening GUFW causes a full system freeze that requires a forced reboot to recover. Also the text is missing from the "welcome box" in GUFW. This does not happen when Mint is first installed. But after running software manager and allowing updates it will do this 100% of the time. Something in that initial batch of updates is not playing nicely. Unfortunately it is 30+ items so I don't know where to place the blame. Machine is a Dell E6410. There are no problems running Mint 20.3

Hi, thanks for the feedback but I can't reproduce it. Gufw is working in Mint 21.3 in my test.

I confirm, same problem on Linux Mint 22. When starting GUFW the system freezes completely.

I partly confirm this issue on my Linux Mint 21.1 Vera: welcome text is completely missing. But operation system is not freezing. My Mint runs in Virtualbox VM 7.0. Issue still remains after completely removing and new installing "gufw" package via Synaptic manager.
