This was proposed but not implemented in #1461. It still seems like a good idea, especially with the Visual Studio Preview program making it more likely for end users to have >1 VS installed.

Superseded by https://github.com/Microsoft/MSBuildLocator (where RegisterDefaults() was a mistake, but I digress).
