I have fallen "victim" to the usual hiccups related to buying parts from less than reputable sources.... I have a bunch of FT232R adapters that talk to FT_PROG and co just fine, and report successful programming.... but actually never change (I cycled them).
Do clones support EEPROM programming at all? Is there a magic trick to handle the situation? If the actual memory is read-only, then it's obviously a lost cause.
