Is your enhancement related to a problem? Please describe

Continuation of #21359

As mentioned in #21359, the 'switch to your running workspace' option can be used to save/commit changes in the running workspace.

Describe the solution you'd like

It would be a great enhancement if we are able to check whether there are any unstaged changes in the running workspace and notify the user if that is the case.

Issues go stale after 180 days of inactivity. lifecycle/stale issues rot after an additional 7 days of inactivity and eventually close.

Mark the issue as fresh with /remove-lifecycle stale in a new comment.
