Room list icons don't display number of unread messages

Steps to reproduce

1. Where are you starting? What can you see?

In the collapsed room list, the icons used to display a number indicating how many unread messages there were in each. As of the last update (or the one before?), these numbers are no longer shown.

2. What do you click?
   The home icon displays the overall number of unread messages in all rooms so I have to click it and it takes me to one of the rooms with unread. Annoying
