Is it worth having a higher-level discussion around fork scheduling?

@lightclient yes, but I'm not sure if on this call or the next? I think we basically need to wrap up London on this call, and introduce the stuff that's needed for the merge so that client teams can absorb that. IMO that's the main factor which influences when the schedule: can we get through that checklist before December 😅

Happy to discuss further on the call, though!

Would be good to articulate the differences between each client implementation for 1559, including:

  • tx pool sorting approaches: Geth and Erigon (fka TurboGeth)
  • fee bumping rules for replacement transactions

We should also directly touch on the need to 2x gas limit near / at the upgrade block and the best approach for doing this.
