Website is entirely inaccessible #57
Comments
Thanks for reporting this. I'm afraid I have no ability to fix the deployment of the server, which also appears to have at least partially been responsible for a lot of difficulties posting stories. But there's a reasonable chance @ethel-t-frog is watching here. |
Sorry about that. The server that used to host Ficlatté shut down at the end of 2023. I have the complete site backed up, but I've been having all kinds of pain trying to get the site back up in a new location. It's a big jump from Django 1.6 on Python2 and Postgres to Django 4 on Python3 and MySql. Also, I'm crazy busy with my day-job. I will get it back up, I promise. Hopefully in the next week or two. |
I've updated the "a few hours" message in the meantime. |
Oh good. Yarny died in a very similar-looking way, and I really don't want that to happen here. Microfiction is what taught me to really write and showed me what I actually want in a story. It holds a very special place in my heart. |
Did we get anywhere with the migration? There have been a few times when I would have liked to continue writing and/or reference some old pieces recently. |
I'm unsure if the creator checks in, or if the website is just struggling, but it's been more than two weeks, the SSL certificate was expired, and the entire website is entirely inaccessible now. Upon trying to visit the main page, you get a single line of text that reads "Ficlatté has moved to a new server. You've come through to the old server. Give it a couple of hours for DNS to sort itself out and everything should be well." But as I've said, it's been like this for more than two weeks. I hope it isn't dead, because it was always a fun little space.
