how do I get date and time in Epoch?? #331

I'm only being able to get date and time in a string format eg: Tue Dec 28 16:55:00 GMT+05:30 2021 in onDateSelected method.
Can anyone tell me how to get date and time in epoch with this library!

long dateInEpoch = date.getTime()
