Create-page feature can create either a child or a sibling page -- consider name and doc updates #1647

The create child page feature used to be broken (#668), but was fixed via #1644. This feature will create a child page only when selected from an index page. Otherwise, it creates a sibling page.

I'd suggest that:

  • The feature be renamed simply to "Create page" (maybe with a more complete title "Create child or sibling page" ... but that might not be worth it)
  • The Repository Links docs be updated to more clearly explain the behavior.

Thoughts @deining @geriom @emckean @LisaFC?

Good and valid point!

Concerning the nomenclature: what about New page?

Then the lists would look like:

  • ...
  • Edit page
  • New page
  • ...

and we could use a + icon which is different from the icon used for page editing:

This icon is available in FA:
