Received in private email from someone in the fintech industry whom I met last night:

I can’t tell from your website what you do or how it works. The message on your home page needs to “pop” and be able to sell you and your services in the first minute of reading – or at least pull them into the sales funnel where they want to learn more by exploring your site.
