I think part of the problem is you don't have the top of mind like Patreon or some of the other platforms. I think supporting BitCoin and Venmo is awesome, you may also want to look into Dwolla, but overall it will be getting the developers and others using your platform to become loud (but not annoying) advertisers and advocates in the open source community.

I think a big part of that is also making very clear your principles, open source and open companies appeal to a different group of people than most businesses. I would love to convince all the projects that I pay via PayPal to use you guys, since you could make it easier for me to do regular payments without them having to set up special donate links.
