I just wanted to discuss this issue, but then realized that it will become yet another one of those unactionable items I am master of. So I changed title a bit to consider the possibility.
Why the hype? Today I was completely sold to Medium.
So, we are shifting our resources and attention to defining a new model for writers and creators to be rewarded, based on the value they’re creating for people. Maybe I've lost too much energy and hope during Gratipocalyse to be an active participant/developer, but I still think of myself as belonging to Gratipay nevertheless, and things like that help me to recover missing pieces to get back on track. I know that things change slowly, and still too slow for me, but the fact is - they will never be changed if I stop. Maybe I am the cog in the vast and complex mechanism that powers the universe of people, but every cog helps to build a momentum, and if I stop spinning, others may stop too. It is so easy to follow the direction of the pressure from your peers, but following the vision of protopia requires a different motion, and the Medium message today is inspiring, because it gives a new sense that changing direction is possible from inside of this big and heavy machine of us.
