audio is not being recorded

you can hear clicking of the sofware(?) and then audio from the mic is heard at the end but mostly no audio at all. I have tested my mic and I have recorded with other audio tools but Kazam is NOT recording my audio while doing a screencast.

I tried webm. MP4 and AVI. No audio joy.

audio recording does work with screencast just not with Kazam.
