Darkmatter-kernel

Used to be a place for PhoenixOS Darkmatter kernel, nowadays the legacy lives on with other Android-x86 distributions

Which codename is which version ?

What are those names that comes after it ?

  • comet-gpd1 : 4.14 with some fixes for GPD Win 1
  • comet_M4 : 4.14 which shipped by default on PhoenixOS Darkmatter 4.7 Milestone 4 (Beta)
  • *-zen : Using patches from zen-kernel
  • *-xanmod : Using patches from xanmod (from umbral xanmod patches is included by default)
  • *-nongoogle : Not using patches from Google's Android Common Kernel (aka Google LTS)
  • *-surface : Using patches from linux-surface
  • *-jupiter : Using patches from Valve for the Steam Deck, currently I use unofficial mirror
  • xanmod_6.6_esdfs : Bringing esdfs to kernel 6.6

Why do you name the kernel like this ?

The name are based on names from Honkai Impact 3rd. At first the kernel are giving pretty random names (chariot/comet/benares/sakura). But starting from 5.10 (pledge), I decided to use battlesuits name instead.
