ILSpy Developer Meeting 2022, July 14th-17th

This year will be in person again, in Vienna this time. As usual, we will use this issue to document the work. However, we'd also like to extend an invite for comments on two topics beforehand:

• We will be doing an AMA on 14th, see AMA Questions Pre-Submission and Voting #2720. If you'd like to submit questions, please do so! (oh, and of course: physical or virtual attendance would be great!)
• We will focus on discussing architecture and features this year. Are there any issues in this repo that you think should be talked about? (yes, even pet projects of yours) Or do you have feature ideas that are not listed as Idea/Proposal or New Feature?

• Start with a review of Add support for C# 10 interpolated string improvements #2743
• Central Package Management to replace packages.prop #2730 we wait until 17.4 RTMs before we consider moving away from the existing solution
• Use a specific version of dotnet-format from the AzDO feeds Install specific version of dotnet-format from AzDO feed #2747 (GH runners had a non-SDK version installed, took us some time to figure it out) f1a0894
• API for BAML decompiler <=> CSharpDecompiler communication; on project export, be able to delete XAML auto-gen code from C# and apply partial modifier on classes 5046e4c
• Look at csharplang: span safety / low-level struct improvements

Saturday

• Went through Long-term evolution of the ICSharpCode.Decompiler model and pipeline #2512 and noted performance issues (lowest-hanging fruit is Performance: HasAttribute/GetAttribute #1204, see Daniel's comment Long-term evolution of the ICSharpCode.Decompiler model and pipeline #2512 (comment))
• Work on ref fields (in ref structs); no Microsoft.Net.Compilers.Toolset version (current: 4.3.0-2.final) yet supports first sample in https://github.com/dotnet/csharplang/blob/main/proposals/low-level-struct-improvements.md. Feature done, but unit tests are waiting for the new package, see Write Tests for ref fields in ref structs feature #2748.
• Add support for Microsoft.Net.Compilers.Toolset in addition to (deprecated) Microsoft.Net.Compilers in Tests
• Output attributes on lambda expressions 21c3ec0
• Roslyn 4.2.0 pattern updates (by going to 4.3.0-2.final when trying to build ref fields in ref structs) 1afcec2
• Fix commit hook & README for dotnet-format version locking fc882b9
• Work on finishing Use Unsafe.SizeOf when taking the size of a managed type. #2749
• Start with Performance: HasAttribute/GetAttribute #1204 (optimizing HasAttribute/GetAttribute design decisions)
