Trying to convert jpg or png and I get this error

/usr/src/app/node_modules/cwebp-bin/vendor/cwebp: 1: /usr/src/app/node_modules/cwebp-bin/vendor/cwebp: Syntax error: "(" unexpected

 imagemin(['./tmp/8kxm5awp2.jpeg'], './tmp/', {
      use: [imageminWebp()]
    }).then((result) => {
       resolve(result)
    })
    .catch((err) => {
      console.error('Error converting image', err);
      return reject(err);
    });
