A nice addition to this extension would be if a new logic is implemented which allows admins to configure, if the script should be used in the <head> as before, or if it should be prepended to the closing </body> tag.

Is this something that would be good addition to this extension or should a new extension be created for that?

Yes, I agree.

I think it perfectly within the scope of this extension to allow for that
