In start method:

  • detect wether to run the xmpp or mqtt clients based on a settings variable, settings.IOTTLY_IOT_PROTOCOL , with possible values xmpp or mqtt
  • define suitable settings keys for the needed MQTT parameters
  • define two keys for IOTTLY_MQTT_TOPIC_SUBSCRIBE (device side) and IOTTLY_MQTT_TOPIC_PUBLISH (server side) for device communication
