I found a site that contains the source files of the Thompson-Byrne Fortran 9x refactoring of VODE. Apparently, DVODE is used there as a tool in a large chemical kinetics package. There is also provision for dense output and capture of event occurrence (as in the LLNL LSODAR software).

This version allows the use of the HSL-Archive sparse unsymmetric solver MA28, and includes drivers for the Toronto ODE test suites. Please take a look and comment on whether it is feasible to port these test suite drivers to work with your DVODE module.
