Customized spine for Master in Computational Biology & Bioinformatics (NOVA FCT)

Boa tarde!
Estou a utilizar o template LaTeX NOVAthesis (versão 7.2.4) para a realização da tese do Master in Computational Biology & Bioinformatics (MCBBI), NOVA FCT. Este mestrado tem a sua própria cover/back/spine que não constam no template. Tanto a capa como a contracapa consegui alterar com sucesso e conforme o exigido, no entanto a lombada não. A lombada referência:

Já tentei duas opções (sem sucesso):

• Tentei alterar o código original feito para spine msc fct, de forma a se adequar a lombada, mas nem lá perto cheguei.
• Gravar o pdf já com as informações todas (título, autor, etc) e em 4_files.tex usar \ntaddfile{cover}[spine]{mcbbi-spine.pdf}, com o intuito de apenas adicionar um pdf (que neste caso corresponde à lombada da tese) como última página, mas esta não aparece.

Gostaria de saber se qual das opções é melhor seguir, e se poderia ter algum apoio em como proceder.

The template does not anticipate a book spine as the one you illustrate, as it is completely unrealistic. It must be a few cm wide to have all that information on top of each other. Let me have a look at it…

Would you mind sharing:

1. some details on how you draw the main cover? I had a look in your thesis response and didn't find it there.
2. the model for the covers (in Word or PDF)?

Thank you very much for the response.
Indeed, it's a bit complicated, as we've only been given the powerpoint template. In this template everything is in the background and only the specialization, title, author and date are to be filled in (the same for the spine).
What I did was fill in the PowerPoints, turn them into PDFs and add them to the template as if they were the base cover.

Here's the only template that was shared with us:

Hello @mivgomes,

Please download the latest version of the template from the repo (v7.3.1).
In file Config/1_novathesis.tex, select doctype=msc and school=nova/fct/cbbi, customize the cover and (hopefully) all your problems are solved. 😊 The spine will be printed when you select docstatus=final.

If something is wrong or missing, please let me know.

Well, the response was better than I could have imagined, I really appreciate it!
It's just a detail, but on the cover the MSc is in gray and on the back cover the logo has a bit of transparency.


I'm only saying this in case you want to update it to be exactly the same, otherwise I can try to change that too.
Apart from that, it's perfect.

(If you download the new version and overwrite the contents of folders Config, Bibliography and Chapters, everything will (hopefully) work. :)
