How can I change Ctrl+R to the up arrow key to view the command history after running the command "eval "$(fzf --bash)"? I want to use the up arrow key "↑" to view the command history. How can I modify the bind in ~/.bashrc?

When you use the height flag, which fzf sets in __fzf_defaults to 40%, the output from your executed command won't appear once you exit fzf.

I assume you want to 'execute' the command from your shell history directly.

Seems to be not possible for bash users.

Thanks @LangLangBart , I successfully executed the historical command, but " --no-height" was really hard to notice.

Good. Just be aware of the limitations when using FZF_CTRL_R_OPTS in this manner, as the executed command may behave differently than expected.

Note

fzf starts child processes using $SHELL -c if $SHELL is set, otherwise sh -c.

This causes your shell to fork, losing access to the original shell environment, including aliases. For example:

alias date='date +%d/%b/%y'
date

fzf --bind 'start:execute(date)+accept'
