Requesting a new field be added to the Ingredient edit screen for Default "unit". Fine to let it default to an empty field or perhaps "oz" or "ml" depending store settings. I'd suggest location on the same line as Strength (ABV %): just above Color: selector.
While most ingredients will do fine with the default of oz or ml, many will never use it. I'd like to set a default unit of "dash" on my bitters, "pinch" to some seasonings, items like basil or mint I might want to default to "leaf" or "sprig", a cocktail cherry might be "each" or "whole" as a default.
Then when creating/editing a cocktail and selecting an ingredient, if that ingredient has a default value set, then use it. But it's still a free form string so I can change "dash" to dashes" as needed.
