tcpie

This is the snap for tcpie, "CLI tool to ping any TCP port". It works on Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian, and other major Linux distributions.

Snap Status

The author of this tool is silverwind. The original repository can be found here.

Install

sudo snap install tcpie

(Don't have snapd installed?)

How to use it

Usage: tcpie [options] host[:port]|url [port|80]

Options:

  -v, --version       output version
  -c, --count <n>     number of connects (default: infinite)
  -i, --interval <n>  wait n seconds between connects (default: 1)
  -t, --timeout <n>   connection timeout in seconds (default: 3)
  -T, --timestamp     add timestamps to output
  -f, --flood         flood mode, connect as fast as possible
  -C, --no-color      disable color output

Examples:

  $ tcpie google.com
  $ tcpie -i .1 8.8.8.8:53
  $ tcpie -c5 -t.05 aspmx.l.google.com 25
  $ tcpie -i.2 https://google.com

  • Post an announcement in the Snapcraft Forum - link
  • Submit a pull request or patch upstream that adds snap install documentation - link
  • Submit a pull request or patch upstream that adds the snapcraft.yaml and any required assets/launchers - link
  • Add upstream contact information to the README.md
  • If upstream accept the PR:
    • Request upstream create a Snap store account
    • Contact the Snap Advocacy team to request the snap be transferred to upstream
  • Ask the Snap Advocacy team to celebrate the snap - link
