Question if its possilbe to subtrract our background from our camera footage

This might be a silly question.
But is\would it not be possible to capture our background image\photo for the camera, then add this image for\into virtual background detector so it can better estimate and subtract and improve the amount of noise induced?
At the moment we can add an image in Sources below the video Capture device for it to swap the background to but would the above not improve noise in footage if our backgrounds are stationary.
