Add some meta documentation

Hey,

You have a good API documentation in place but I'm wondering how the whole thing actually works, as well as what the trade-offs are w.r.t. to Electron, the performance difference, how you intend to move forward with the project, etc.

It would be interesting if you could touch on those subjects.
