Closes #20309
Looks like the issue was fixed somewhere between 3.5.0-RC1-bin-20240429-e2c456f-NIGHTLY and 3.5.0-RC1-bin-20240501-e6bc130-NIGHTLY. Since the cutoff for 3.5.0 was well after 01.05, there does not seem to be any need to backport anything here to 3.5.0-release.
